Laía Argüelles Folch es artista visual y escritora.
Nadadora devocional y espigadora de mercadillo, reside en Zaragoza tras haber vivido en diversas ciudades españolas, así como en Londres, Leipzig, Berlín y Halle/Saale. Licenciada en Traducción e Interpretación, graduada en Bellas Artes y máster en Investigación en Filosofía, es doctoranda en Filosofía en el área de Estética. Con un interés particular en las tensiones del cuerpo en el agua, su práctica profundiza en la traducibilidad de la experiencia y el uso de la imaginación como herramienta epistemológica.
Ha publicado «Breve ensayo sobre la carta» (Temporal, 2021), «Ciprés» (Chiquita Ediciones, 2022) y «Cuaderno azul» (Temporal, 2023), así como «Todavía siempre» (MARCO, 2024), el catálogo de la exposición homónima que tuvo lugar en el MARCO de Vigo en 2024. Desde 2023 es artista de la galería Chiquita Room.
Laía Argüelles Folch is a visual artist and writer.
She is a dedicated swimmer and fleamarket gleaner based in Saragossa, Spain, although she has lived in many Spanish cities throughout the years, as well as in London, Leipzig, Berlin and Halle/Saale. Currently a PhD candidate in Philosophy, she holds degrees both in Translation Studies and Fine Arts, and master studies in Philosophy. Focused on the tensions of the body in water, her research deals with the translatability of experience and the use of imagination as an epistemological tool.
She is the author of «Breve ensayo sobre la carta» (Temporal, 2021), «Ciprés» (Chiquita Ediciones, 2022), and «Cuaderno azul» (Temporal, 2023). «Todavía siempre» (MARCO, 2024) is the exhibition catalogue of the solo show held at MARCO Museum in Vigo, Spain. Since 2023 her artistic work is represented by the gallery Chiquita Room.
